RABAT MOROCCO
A LOOK BACK AT OUR INCREDIBLE TRIP
What a lovely weekend in Rabat! ❤️ I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group we were small, but gelled so naturally and quickly. It felt like travelling with friends rather than people I’d just met. The itinerary was relaxed and never rushed, yet we managed to see and do so much. I came home with some really lovely memories and a big smile. Definitely a trip I’ll remember! Looking forward to the next trip

I had a fantastic trip to Rabat with this travel agency.. can't recommend them highly enough! Ciara and Ella went above and beyond to make it a magical trip. A real cultural feast! I've travelled on my own before but wanted the safety net of a small tour group, one that allowed for some independence and flexibility. (I tend to avoid large tour buses/ groups and not a fan of minute by minute itineraries. Although they have trips that cater for this too).
It was a dream to have everything organised, Flight, transfer, accommodation and 2 activities over the 3night stay. We met at the departure gate in Dublin, sat near eachother on plane (but not together) and Ciara and Ella were with us for the trip. Our airport transfer was seamless, dropped us to the Medina area of Rabat. Our beautiful Rhiad (b&b) was booked out completely for us - what a treat! Each had our own double room, ensuite. (Worth noting the Call to Prayer starts 5am so ear plugs are handy!) We had a Tagine cookery class the first evening and got to know eachother. -Run by the amazing women at 'So Delices' cookery school ... it was SO delicious!
The next day Tuktuks brought us around different sites of Rabat, dropping us off and giving time at each place. There's no way we'd have seen so much without this TukTuk tour. Some areas we saw: -The Medina market/shops -Beach area/ Lighthouse -Chellah Castle, UNESCO site, ruins and gardens. -Kasbah of Udeyas -The Mausoleum of Mohammed V -All the architecture and houses of surrounding neighborhoods. And a special mention of our boat trip to the Marina at Salé where we ate one eve, (a small row boat, 5minute trip to the other side costing only 25cents! ) not part of our plan but a lovely add-on that Ciara suggested.
Rabat is like the underrated gem of Morroco, where Marakesh seems to get the intensity of tourists, Rabat felt more spacious. Clean and safe too. Full of culture, colourful markets and people are wonderful. It was great to find a tour where you can explore on your own for a bit or join the group. But some experiences are better shared together (like food and tuktuk rides!) and it was lovely to meet like-minded people. I'll definitely be doing more trips with Solo Travel.
